Maddex Ternes will serve as a co-head coach for the RMEA Riptides during the 2026 season. A lifelong swimmer who grew up in the program, Maddex is an incredibly talented and accomplished athlete who has been successful at both the state and national level and will continue his career at the collegiate level. He has competed with YSSC, Riverside High School, and GMC, and has developed into a strong leader both in and out of the pool. 

With experience as an assistant coach and instructor, he brings energy, positivity, and a strong focus on technique and teamwork. Maddex is passionate about helping swimmers improve while making sure practices stay fun and motivating. 

Coach Hunt will serve as a co-head coach for the 2026 season, continuing a journey with RMEA that began when he was just five years old. After more than 13 years of competitive swimming and success at the state and national level, Hunt brings both experience and heart to the role. 

A former RMEA coach and longtime mentor to younger swimmers, he is known for his patience, encouragement, and genuine care for every athlete. Deeply connected to the team and community, Hunt is excited to help create a positive, confident, and close-knit environment for all swimmers.

My name is Reagan Dawson and I am so thrilled to be one of the coaches for RMEA this season! This is my 9th year swimming with RMEA and I’m so excited for more! I look forward to it every summer. I love seeing the kids improve throughout the season every year and am so excited to help be a part of that. The energy from the kids and the families here is unmatchable! I can’t wait to help the swimmers improve but also give them the most enjoyable summer. I’m so excited to see what this season has in store! I’ll also be offering private swim lessons!

Connor Aldridge has been swimming for RMEA since he was 13 years old and since then, has fallen in love with the team and is absolutely thrilled to be a part of the coaching staff this year. Connor’s favorite food is pizza and favorite song is Finesse by Bruno Mars. Connor’s hidden talent would be his ability to connect and listen to the younger groups of kids on the swim team and making friends. Connor is super excited about this year and coaching the RMEA swim team, he is pumped to get to know each and every swimmer and hopefully help them get much better and win the purple division.

Elijah McDowell has grown up in the RMEA program and is looking forward to his eleventh year with the team. He is excited to serve as an assistant coach this summer. SAIL swimming was the beginning of his love for the sport, and he is eager to encourage team spirit and bring out the best in each swimmer. Elijah has also competed successfully on high school and club teams at both the state and national levels of swimming. He will be available for private swim lessons for those interested!
